The Ministry of Health is currently formulating a procedure that will make it possible to vaccinate about 25,000 housewives, but MDA is not waiting for approval. Senior MDA officials told Walla!

NEWS that a few days ago people started vaccinating people inside their home, contrary to a directive from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, which stated that vaccines should not be shaken from the moment they come out of the refrigerator.

According to sources, the ministry told them that housekeepers can be reached if there is a registered nurse in the area.

However, the vaccination documentation of Rabbi Shalom Cohen, president of the Shas Council of Torah Scholars, shows that this procedure was also omitted by the rescue organization, when no nurse was seen in its vicinity.

In the last month, the vaccination campaign for housewives has expanded, through assistance in reaching the vaccination complexes, which in some cases also required the use of ambulances.

Despite the efforts, there are patients who cannot be evicted from their homes, and the only option is to carry the vaccine to them.

The Ministry of Health tried to calm the concern, saying that as long as the people in the detention center are vaccinated - their risk of infection is very limited.

According to the HMOs, between 30% and 40% of the insured in the home have not yet been vaccinated.

The data show that as of February 15, there were about 25,000 confined and home patients who did not receive the first dose, but the funds claim that the number of patients to be vaccinated in homes is much lower.

For example, Maccabi HMO has about 550 insureds, Meuhedet about 120 insureds and Leumit about 100 insureds.

Corona Commissioner: The procedure will be closed soon

Corona's commissioner, Prof. Nachman Ash, was asked about the issue at a briefing for ultra-Orthodox reporters earlier this week, and claimed that the ministry was formulating a plan that had not yet been implemented.

"There are a high number of housewives who need to be vaccinated - and we will vaccinate them at home," he promised.

"The procedure is not yet closed, especially in the context of how to carry out the vaccine safely. We have found a way to mobile the vaccine, we will summarize the process with the HMOs soon. It is of great importance."

Former Minister Meirav Cohen clarified that "the issue of vaccinating adults who are confined to their homes and unable to reach the immunization points is critical and urgent, as this is the highest risk population, and if they are infected with the virus there is a high risk of serious illness and even death."

"Critical issue."

She was surprised to find out that vaccines are given in homes to some of the public.

"After a series of discussions with the management of the Ministry of Health and the HMOs, we reached transparent understandings.

"This refusal was first explained by the fact that this could lead to a waste of vaccine doses, since each vial has six doses and some may go down the drain, and then this was explained by the fact that there is no Pfizer permit to shake a six-dose vial for fear of compromising the vaccine." , She said.

"Against this background, it is not clear to me how it is possible that the same rabbi did receive a vaccine in his home. This raises questions and it is important to ensure that the vaccinations are given in an equal manner while applying uniform rules to all segments of the population."

The Ministry of Health responded: "We do not know of any such cases in which MDA stores in homes.

At this stage, there is no approval yet. "

MDA has not yet responded.
