In a joint statement at the end of a monthly session of the Security Council on the conflict in the Middle East, Estonia, France, Ireland, Norway and the United Kingdom affirmed to be

"deeply concerned about recent demolitions and confiscations of property by Israel, including structures funded by the European Union and donors, in Humsa Al-Baqai'a in the Jordan Valley ”

.

This concern extends to the consequences of these decisions

"on a community of about 70 people, including 41 children,"

they said.

“We reiterate our call on Israel to end the demolitions and confiscations.

We further call on Israel to allow full, sustainable and unhindered humanitarian access to the community of Humsa Al-Baqai'a, ”

European diplomats added.

Before the Security Council, the UN envoy for the region, the Norwegian Tor Wennesland, also expressed his concern about the same demolitions and confiscations.

Israel

"demolished or confiscated 80 structures in the Palestinian Bedouin community of Humsa Al-Baqai'a"

, he lamented.

These decisions have caused the displacement of 63 people on multiple occasions, including 36 children, and follow similar demolitions that took place in November, the envoy said.

“I urge Israel to stop the demolition and seizure of Palestinian property throughout the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and allow Palestinians to develop their communities,”

Tor Wennesland added.
