Uruguay received on Thursday the first batch with 192,000 vaccines against covid-19 from the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac.
“At 11:07 pm, the first doses of vaccines arrived from the Sinovac Laboratory.
Officials of the MSP and the Calmette Laboratory verify that the procedures established for the correct transfer to the Laboratory and subsequent distribution of the doses to the vaccination centers are being followed, ”the Ministry of Health wrote on Twitter.
This is the first batch that the country receives to face the coronavirus and, according to what was reported by the Uruguayan government, the first to be vaccinated will be education personnel, police, firefighters and the military.
Pfizer vaccines are expected to arrive in mid-March to inoculate healthcare personnel and older adults.
