The new crown pneumonia epidemic has not ended. In the past, there have been many times in the past that housing estates have "spreading drugs".

A political party conducted a survey of more than 2,500 public housing residents in Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin districts and found that more than 70% of the respondents were very worried about the channel becoming a means of spreading the epidemic, and an adult’s house often had a bad smell.

However, the drainage pipe inspection plan launched due to the epidemic took about 18 months to complete. Four adults were dissatisfied with this.

Among them, one of the cases belonged to an epidemic building, where the drainage pipe connection point in the home was cracked, but the staff of the Housing Department said that it was not serious, and it has not been dealt with since January to today (27th).

The DAB Housing Affairs spokesperson, Or Chong-sheng, pointed out that the case is only the tip of the iceberg. The Housing Authority is urged to make a commitment for drainage services and complete the drainage inspection plan ahead of schedule in the first half of this year.

From January to February this year, the DAB reported to the 2,548 public housing residents in Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin districts that 10% and 30% of the households had frequent or occasional odors in their homes.

The DAB conducted a survey of 2,548 public housing residents in Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin districts from January to February this year. 10% of the respondents said that the household pipes often smelled bad, and 30% of the respondents said that occasionally Odor is present; more than 20% of the interviewees are dissatisfied with the performance of the Housing Department in following up the drainage management.

The Housing Authority’s drainage inspection takes about 18 months to process. Four adults are not satisfied with this.

The party’s housing affairs spokesperson, Ke Chongsheng, said that since the outbreak of the epidemic, there have been at least 30 requests for help regarding drainage problems, many of which are due to odor problems in drainage pipes of public housing residents.

He criticized that experts have indicated that when the pipe has a smell, it means that the pipe has not been able to successfully isolate the air or has a broken situation. "But the IKEA department of the Housing Department has nothing to do with the smell. I think it is not enough. Go ahead."

Sewage samples from Fengze Building in Caiyun (2) Village were tested positive for the new crown virus as early as December last year. Later, at least three units were found to have been recruited, and all residents were required to undergo mandatory testing twice.

Residents in a low-rise unit in the building found a smelly toilet pipe, and there were confirmed cases on the upper and lower floors, and reported to the Housing Department for follow-up.

Mr. Xu, chairman of the Fengze Building Mutual Committee, revealed that a representative of the Housing Department came to check in mid-December and confirmed that there was a problem with the pipe, but another representative of the Housing Department changed his words in the afternoon of the same day. "Dangerous", he also advised residents to protect the canal with plastic sheets, and asked him not to clean or touch the canal to prevent the fragile outer layer from peeling off.

As a result, the residents have waited for two months, but no replacement works have been arranged so far. The progress is unacceptable.

Sewage samples from Fung Chak House in Choi Wan (2) Village were tested positive for the new crown virus as early as December last year. However, some households have rusty and leaky toilet pipes and have not been processed by the Housing Department so far.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of China Lai Wing-ho criticized that the Housing Department had not prescribed clear maintenance guidelines. "There have been public housing estates for decades, and the outsourcers simply cannot return the original parts." As a result, the quality of the project is poor. Squeeze the glue in if you have any."

The department also has no promise of drainage service. He said: "You can do it in one or two weeks. Ikea will pass the time sooner in extraordinary times."

Ko Chongsheng believes that the Housing Department, as the largest landlord in Hong Kong, needs to take the initiative to conduct drainage inspections. "Ikea Sanwu Building has 1 billion yuan to do it. What about public housing?" The results of this investigation and the case were submitted to the Housing Affairs Panel of the Legislative Council and the Housing Department, requesting immediate follow-up.
