Mayor Max Gotz and the city council threaten the next trouble: The possible demolition of the TSV stadium in the course of the construction of new fire stations.
Both projects cannot be played off against each other, comments editor-in-chief Hans Moritz.
Fire brigade is more important than football.
In one case it is about saving lives and averting danger, in the other it is about exercise and entertainment.
As a result, the city's decision to build new tool sheds for the Erding and Altenerding fire brigades is where they are strategically ideal - also against the background of the air base conversion.
It is therefore justifiable for other infrastructures to be given secondary consideration.
In the specific case, however, this does not mean that sport should suffer disadvantages as a result.
The outcry from the clubs about the possibility of demolishing the TSV stadium in favor of the Erdinger Wache and enlarging the festival area is understandable and was to be expected.
At the moment it is still too early to sing swan songs in the arena.
It is still just a consideration.
The planning for both tool sheds has only just started and is still vague.
Nobody knows at the moment whether this space requirement is even required.
However, the city must not make it too easy for itself and simply refer the clubs to the neighboring Gerd-Vogt-Sportpark.
Because there are also events in Erding that attract hundreds of spectators.
A playing field without a grandstand in Erding, which likes to present itself as a sports city, would be relegation - and unworthy of it.
Likewise, the association's reference to not wanting to sell sausage rolls and lemonade with the Leiterwagerl deserves recognition.
The kiosk is an important source of income.
The city council justified the millions spent on the sports park with the fact that additional sports areas were required.
If space is saved elsewhere - that of the stadium, the hall used as a vaccination center on Lodererplatz and the school gym in Langengeisling, which is in need of renovation in the foreseeable future - the additional offer will be canceled immediately.
The sports park has never been classified as a replacement sports facility.
It would also be fatal to use the fire brigade as a reason for the stadium being closed.
Because the enormous need for renovation on Anton-Bruckner-Straße has existed for a long time - on turf and tartan track.
The fire brigade construction project will set in motion an urban domino effect.
City hall and city council are well advised to let another player on the field right from the start - the future of the stadium.
In the CSU, Janine Krzizok is traded for higher (even highest?) Tasks, hence the deputy parliamentary group chair.
In the second term of office she is the city council's sports officer.
If it wants to prove itself and actually recommend it for higher ordinations, it must play a key role in the planning and negotiations.
The challenge is immense: Fire brigades and associations are powerful institutions with an enormous potential for voters.
Playing them off against each other would be political hara-kiri.
