The corona pandemic and its financial consequences do not stop at the citizens of the district.

Not only employees of companies are affected by the lockdown, many social benefit recipients are currently doing badly.

Therefore, the district Greens applied for a temporary Corona emergency aid fund in the amount of 500,000 euros.

District

- The district committee members agreed that there had to be some kind of support offer.

But the desired emergency fund met with criticism from many.

"The application is not based on our inspiration, but is a wish of Caritas," said Christoph Nadler, chairman of the Green parliamentary group, in the current district committee meeting.

In 2020 alone, the welfare association recorded 500 more social consultations.

Reasons for the financial distress of the citizens include the loss of the mini job, short-time work or high costs for homeschooling, home office and hygiene articles such as masks, writes Caritas in a statement.

“This is a disaster,” said Nadler.

“We cannot go back to normal procedures.

We have to set a political example. "

Do not pass expenses on to communities

The SPD parliamentary group supported the request of the Greens.

"Actually we share the offer very much," said parliamentary group leader Florian Schardt.

“But it won't be easy.” But if the district still has the opportunity to put small dinghies in the water, it should also use them.

It could look different next year.

"500,000 euros are not the world," said Schardt.

CSU parliamentary group chairman Stefan Schelle saw it differently.

“Money that we don't spend now is debts that we don't incur.” The main headache for him is the thought that “it is not the district that pays the 500,000 euros, but the municipalities.” And that includes not only financially strong municipalities like Unterföhring and Grünwald, but also Aying and Schäftlarn.

"At the end of the day, even the small communities have to be able to manage their household and it won't be any funnier in the next few years."

Donation account instead of emergency fund

Instead of an emergency aid fund, the Oberhachingen mayor suggested a donation account into which private individuals, companies or even municipalities can contribute.

"Every congregation can add something, but it is not a must," said Schelle.

In Oberhaching he already noticed that the willingness to donate is very high.

Nicola Gerhardt (CSU), who represented Hohenbrunn's mayor Stefan Straßmair, welcomed Schelle's proposal.

One should call for solidarity, because "not all citizens are doing badly, there are also some who work normally and currently do not spend their money on visits to restaurants or the hairdresser."

The Greens and the SPD were also able to get used to the idea of the donation account.

"I'm pleased that the topic is picking up speed," said Nadler.

"Now we hope that the establishment of the account and the promotion of the fundraiser will be tackled by the district administration."

In the end, all committee members voted in favor of the amended resolution.

Only charities and neighborhood workers should have access to the donation account.

You should decide where the money should flow quickly and unbureaucratically.
