The Bobigny court followed the requisitions of the public prosecutor by condemning on Friday an educator from the specialized reception center (MAS) of Pavillons-sous-Bois to ten months in prison for having struck one of the residents.
He will not be able to work for five years in this type of structure.
His colleague who had filmed the scene receives a six-month suspended sentence.
"I am satisfied that justice is done," said Monique François, mother of the young man.
It's good that my son is listened to and that educators cannot do anything.

Violence filmed by another employee
On June 18, 2019, Kevin
(name has been changed),
29, a disabled adult with autism spectrum disorders, was beaten with a stick by an employee.
The violence occurred during an outing with several residents organized by the MAS, an associative structure that welcomes adults suffering from pervasive developmental disorders.
The facts might never have been revealed if an employee had not filmed the footage.
On the video of the assault, we saw a man hitting Kevin, before threatening him: "I'm going to cut your teeth.
At the MAS, you'll see!
"
Other violence committed?
Kevin's mother received this video a few days later via an anonymous Internet upload.
She then hastens to file a complaint against X and the MAS “for violence against a vulnerable person”.
The educator was fired.
He explained that he had "gone wrong" and that Kevin was "in crisis".
This violence also led the Regional Health Agency to place the structure under provisional administration.
Since then, other testimonies have appeared denouncing violence against residents.
They could result in new lawsuits.
