Badr in February, known as the "Snow Moon", reached the peak of illumination at dawn today, Saturday, and it is expected that the peak of illumination will extend until dawn hours on Sunday, according to the Syrian Astronomical Society.
Dr. Mudhar Dayoub, head of the association’s Lattakia branch, said in a statement to the SANA reporter that the full moon of February is known as the “snow moon” according to its international designation, as it is accompanied by snowfall during this month and in relation to the traditional features associated with the seasons.
Diop explained that the main feature of the moon today is through the highest illumination because of its encounter with the sun and for the naked eye, the moon will appear full and centered at the highest point of the sky, and it is not possible to differentiate between the nights as it is complete itself and began from dawn on Saturday and continues until dawn on Sunday.
This moon corresponds to the so-called Saad al-Saud, which begins on the 26th of February and is the homes of the moon.
