The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will be held in Beijing for two consecutive days starting today. The agenda announced earlier does not involve Hong Kong.
It is rumored in political circles that the National Two Sessions to be held early next month may have an agenda involving Hong Kong's political reform.
Tan Yaozong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said in an inquiry from "Hong Kong 01" that because the meeting required confidentiality, he could not be interviewed by the media and would discuss it in due course.
He hopes that the media will understand and stop asking questions.
