The United Nations and European members of the Security Council called on the Israeli occupation entity to stop demolishing Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
At the conclusion of the Security Council session, Estonia, France, Ireland, Norway and the United Kingdom affirmed in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse that they are “deeply concerned about the recent demolitions and confiscation of property carried out by (Israel), which affected installations funded by the European Union and donors in Hamsa Al-Baqi in the Jordan Valley.” .
Those countries also expressed concern about the consequences of these decisions on the Palestinian residents of this area, calling on the occupation authorities to "allow full, sustainable and unimpeded access for humanitarian aid to the Homs Al-Baqi area."
In turn, the United Nations envoy to the Middle East, Tor Winsland, expressed his concern before the Security Council about the demolition and confiscation operations carried out by the occupation authorities and said .. that they “demolished or confiscated 80 homes in Homs Al-Baqi,” noting that these decisions have repeatedly caused the displacement of dozens of Palestinians. It comes on the heels of similar demolitions that took place last November.
Winsland added ... that "Israel must stop the demolition and confiscation of Palestinian property throughout the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and allow the Palestinians to develop their areas and build homes for them."
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities demolished Palestinian homes in the Homs Al-Baqi area in the northern West Bank more than once as part of their policies aimed at displacing Palestinians and expelling them from their lands and homes.
