Donald Trump on Friday, February 26, gave his support to a rival candidate of a Republican who had voted for his indictment for inciting the insurgency, carrying out his threat to put in difficulty the few elected officials of his party who rose up against him.

The former US president has announced his
"full"
support
for Max Miller, a former White House adviser and member of his campaign team, in the primary that will pit him against Anthony Gonzalez, one of the ten Republicans in the House of Representatives - out of 211 - who voted with Democrats to accuse him of instigating the murderous assault on Capitol Hill on Jan.6.
"Max Miller is a wonderful person who has done a superb job in the White House and will be a fantastic member of Congress,"
he wrote in a statement.

added the real estate mogul of the former professional football player , first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018.

Donald Trump was indicted (“impeachment”) in the House on January 13 and then acquitted a month later after his trial in the Senate.
Seven out of fifty Republican senators voted with the fifty Democrats in favor of his conviction.
The ex-president remains very popular with Republican voters and has said he is ready to help his party regain a majority in Congress in 2022.
