The election declaration of the cabinet-designate "Shuo Ye" of the 51st Session of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Student Union Council criticized CUHK for bowing to the government and even proactively flattered it. It also mentioned walking with Hong Kong people and promoting local culture.
At the beginning of the month, CUHK issued a statement stating that the relevant election declaration and media interviews may violate the law, and will seek assistance from law enforcement agencies when necessary.
After "Shuo Ye" was elected this Wednesday, the school issued a statement on Thursday, stating that the cabinet had proposed five "blocking" measures for failing to clarify the illegal and inaccurate participation declaration and interviewed remarks, including the suspension of collection of membership fees and the requirement that the student union be registered as Independent associations, assume their own legal responsibilities, suspend the positions of different committees in the cabinet members of the school, and suspend the administrative and university site support for the student council.
