An earthquake measuring 5.4 degrees on the Richter scale struck today west of the city of Adak in the US state of Alaska, without news of injuries.
The US Geological Survey reported that the 45.17-kilometer-long earthquake was detected at 51.1951 degrees north latitude and 178.9287 degrees west longitude.
And a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck in December last year in the southeastern Nikolsky district of Alaska, without causing injuries.
