At least 11 people died and two more were injured this Saturday, after an armed attack that took place in the municipality of Tonalá, the Attorney General of the Mexican state of Jalisco reported in a statement.
The incident took place in the La Jaula neighborhood, to the east of the city of Guadalajara, where the authorities reported that they found the bodies of 10 men on the sidewalk of a street and one more, "apparently a minor", in the inside a home, according to the bulletin released this Saturday night.
All the deceased had "wounds caused by a firearm projectile," explained the Prosecutor's Office.
In the attack, a woman and another minor were also injured, who were "taken to receive medical attention," although the Prosecutor's Office did not specify where or the condition in which they were.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the deceased were attacked by a group of people who were aboard a truck and opened fire on the victims with "long weapons."

"The bodies of the victims will be transferred to the rest of the Forensic Medical Service pending their official identification, while work is being done to fix the signs on the site," added the Prosecutor's Office.
At the moment, it is unknown what could have been the motive for the attack or the identity of the attackers.
