The workshops of the General Company for Roads and Bridges branch in the Eastern Province have started the implementation of the sidewalks project at Cinema Fouad Street, located within the liberated neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city.
The head of the city council, Eng. Raed Mandil, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that as part of the recovery plan for the liberated neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor, the process of rehabilitating the “Cinema Fouad Street” market and the surrounding area has continued, as the General Company for Roads and Bridges workshops under a contract signed with the City Council began implementing the sidewalks project. To the main street in the market after completing the works of rehabilitating the street’s infrastructure, including sewage, water, electricity, communications, and laying an asphalt shirt.
Mandil pointed out that the rehabilitation of this vital street will contribute to the return of economic and commercial life to the market and the surrounding neighborhoods, which are witnessing an intensive return of the people.
In turn, the director of the branch of the General Company for Roads and Bridges in the Eastern Province, Eng. Aziz Aziz, explained that the value of the contract concluded with the City Council amounts to 20 million pounds and that the project extends about 1 km in length and includes casting a concrete layer, installing a substitute stone, extending selected materials and casting floors for sidewalks, pointing out that the implementation period The contract lasts for 40 days, but the company's workshops are intensifying work to finish the work in a shorter period.
A number of shopkeepers in the market praised the efforts made to rehabilitate it, stressing that they had maintained and renovated their stores, as this market is one of the most prominent commercial and economic landmarks of Deir Ezzor City.
