The Public Authority for Water Resources has begun rehabilitation work on the Batmoush dam in the far countryside of Jableh in Lattakia on the administrative borders with Hama Governorate, in cooperation with the coastal region branch of the General Company for Building and Development to support farmers' needs of water resources.
The Director of Water Resources, Engineer Firas Haidar, told SANA reporter that the dam is a mountain lake with an area of about 5,000 square meters with mountain shoulders, and the volume of natural storage in it is about 7,000 square meters.
Haidar pointed out that the dam needs concealment work to return to storing it, indicating that it contributes to the agricultural development of the area and the provision of water resources necessary for the crops spread there, especially tobacco.
