In the pandemic, Andrew Cuomo distinguished himself as a crisis manager.
But his regime is said to be toxic, and an ex-employee had reported sexual harassment.
Now the well-connected governor of the US state New York is confronted with new allegations.
Another ex-employee told the New York Times that Cuomo had molested her last year.
Among other things, the 63-year-old told her that he was open to relationships with young women and asked her how she saw the question of the age difference, said the 25-year-old.
Cuomo didn't touch her, "but I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me and felt terribly uncomfortable and appalled," said the ex-health advisor.
After speaking with the head of cabinet and a legal advisor to the governor about the incident, she was transferred to another post in another building.
Since she liked the job, she stopped talking about the incident.
Cuomo denied the allegations.
He never made advances to the woman and never intended to "act in any inappropriate way," said the democratic politician.
The governor called for a thorough investigation into the allegations by an ex-federal judge.
Cuomo only claims to have been a mentor
"I was trying to mentor her," said Cuomo.
He never tried to approach her in an inappropriate way.
Until the completion of the independent investigation, he did not want to comment on the matter further.
It is the second allegation against Cuomo within a week.
Another ex-employee accused the governor of abusive behavior on Wednesday.
It is said to have included the gift of a rose for Valentine's Day, but also kissing on the mouth against her will and a suggestion to play a game of strip poker.
He also touched her buttocks, arms and legs several times.
Cuomo also denied these allegations and issued a denial.
Doubts about recent corona management
Cuomo was able to distinguish himself as a maker in the pandemic when the corona virus raged particularly violently in New York.
The 63-year-old resolutely opposed the spread of the virus and informed the public in unvarnished words about the extent of the crisis and the need for strict measures.
He became an opponent of then President Donald Trump, who for a long time downplayed the danger posed by the corona virus.
Most recently, however, Cuomo had also come under pressure because of his handling of the corona pandemic.
The governor has been accused of dismissing or covering up the death toll in old people's homes.
In the meantime, the judiciary is also investigating.
