The scene most anticipated by local football fans has appeared. Everyone has the opportunity to use another identity to represent Hong Kong in international competitions.

The Hong Kong Football Association announced today (March 1) that it will hold the "Hong Kong E-Sports Football Team Trial", and select "masters" to compete in the "FIFAe Nations Cup".

The FIFA will host the "FIFAe Nations Cup 2021" this year. This world-wide e-sports event was founded in 2019, and France won the championship at that time.

This tournament officially invites all member states and regions to participate. The Hong Kong Football Association has also decided to send a team to join the Hong Kong E-Sports Association to host a Hong Kong team trial. Five "masters" will be selected to represent Hong Kong in the final week in Denmark in August. .

Once hosted the Hong Kong Super Cup e-sports, the FA will make persistent efforts

During the suspension of the Hong Kong Super League in April last year, the Football Association held the Hong Kong Super League E-Sports Cup for an unprecedented time, which aroused repercussions in the global arena and fans responded enthusiastically.

The FA Vice Chairman and Chairman of the E-sports Committee Huo Qishan believes that football can be promoted through e-sports. "I hope to attract more young people to pay attention to the development of football. The FA will also launch more different types of football activities in the future.

Huo Qishan described the event as a "milestone" for the FA, establishing a "fresh" image for the local wave.

"This is the beginning of a new normal. My next step is to organize an e-sports football league in Hong Kong to train outstanding athletes."

The organizer invited Li Jiajin and Chen Huaizhi, members of the Hong Kong Five-a-side football team, as well as women's football members Yuan Kaidi and Li Yingxin to stage a "demonstration match".

The organizer expects nearly a thousand people to participate

The trials will be conducted in the "Ultimate Team" mode of "FIFA 21" on PS4 or Xbox One.

Citizens can participate as long as they are 16 years of age or older, holding a SAR passport and permanent resident ID card. The registration time is from now until 12 noon on March 10.

According to Yang Quansheng, founding president of the E-Sports Association, there are currently more than 500 relevant "active players" in Hong Kong, and it is expected that nearly a thousand people will participate in the event.

The competition will be staged from March 13 to 14, and March 20 to 21, and the final day will be staged on April 3.

The champion and runner-up of each platform, as well as the cross-platform "best third runner-up" will automatically be selected for the Hong Kong team.

Master's refusal fee for 10 hours of training per week

Chen Huaizhi, a member of the Hong Kong Futsal team who won the local e-sports championship, was invited to "show his skills" at the event.

Regarding the FA officially established the FIFA E-Sports Hong Kong team, he who has signed up to participate in the trials bluntly said that it feels "so special." "The public will know that there are representative teams to play e-sports. It feels completely different from before."

Although he "trains" for about 10 hours a week, he admits that there is still a gap between the strength of Hong Kong players and that of Europe. It also depends on "financial resources" and luck. "This model requires players to buy and sell players on their own to "build" lineups, and "class money" is drawn. If you are a good player, your strength is naturally high, so you have a chance to form a disparity between strengths and weaknesses. But I don’t have a "class fee" because I think it’s meaningless to play like this."

Chen Huaizhi stated that he has signed up for the competition and is confident that he can get results without relying on "class money".
