47 people who participated in the primary election of the pro-democracy party were charged with "conspiracy to subvert state power" by the police and appeared in West Kowloon Magistracy yesterday (March 1).
However, the hearing started yesterday noon and did not end at about 2 am today (March 2). As one of the female defendants, the chairman of the Wan Chai District Council, Yang Xueying, fainted, Magistrate Su Hui-te decided to adjourn the case today. Continue processing at 11:30 in the morning.
It was reported that Yang Xueying fainted unwell in the court at nearly 2 am, and later recovered sober, and was taken to Caritas Medical Centre by ambulance for treatment.
During the period, the gate of the court reportedly failed for a while, and the ambulance successfully entered after a few minutes of disturbance.
At about 3 am, two other defendants, including the founder of "AbouThai" Lin Jingnan and Tsuen Wan District Councillor Tan Kaibang, also reported that they were unwell and were sent to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment.
When Tan Kaibang was admitted to the hospital, he told the media: "It's okay."
According to the source, Yang Xueying felt unwell at the time of the incident and stepped into the prisoner’s pen to go to the correctional area to rest. During the period, he fainted. The defendant Liang Guoxiong, who was beside him at the time, immediately assisted and lay Yang Xueying on the ground waiting for rescue. It is reported that another defendant, Guo Jiaqi, a former member of the Legislative Council of the Civic Party who is qualified as a specialist, also immediately stepped forward to give assistance. At that time, Yang Xueying was conscious but could not get up.
