The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced that 721 deaths and 34,027 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry stated in its daily report that the total number of infections due to the virus reached 1,055,1259, of whom 254,942 died.
These figures show a slight decrease after five consecutive days in which the number continued to exceed 1,300 deaths and at least 60,000 daily injuries.
Brazil is fighting a second strong wave of the virus that has been going on for more than three months.
