This Monday 117,000 doses of Pfizer's vaccine against covid-19 arrived in Colombia on a DHL flight.

These vaccines were acquired through the Covax program, with Colombia being the first country in Latin America to receive them through this mechanism, as confirmed by President Iván Duque in a press conference in which Dr. Tedros Adhanom, General Director of the Health Organization, and Seth Berkley, director of Covax.

The Covax program is a mechanism led by a coalition that seeks equitable access to doses to developing countries.

"Today marks a very important milestone," said Duque.

“Covax makes its first delivery of vaccines in the Western Hemisphere in the Americas and the first country to receive those doses is Colombia;
