Several vaccines have already been approved against the coronavirus in Baden-Württemberg.
Curevac from Tübingen has now developed a method that could change the course of the pandemic.
Tübingen - The vaccination against the coronavirus in Baden-Württemberg (BW24 * reported) started in December last year.
Several vaccines have now been approved by various companies in Germany.
The biotech company Curevac from Tübingen has even been working on a vaccine since February 2020 and reported many partial successes over the course of the year *.
There are still great hopes for the vaccine from Tübingen.
The federal government invested 300 million euros in the company * and Curevac even received unexpected support from Tesla boss Elon Musk *.
In the fight against the coronavirus in Baden-Württemberg, the number of approved vaccines continues to increase.
Curevac expects approval by the beginning of June and Tübingen's Mayor Boris Palmer (Greens) already advertised the upcoming vaccine in an episode of "stern TV" a few days ago.
The OB got vaccinated against the coronavirus long before the official vaccination start *.
Currently, the shortage of vaccine doses is a major problem in combating the pandemic.
A world first developed by Curevac can now massively accelerate production, as reported by
Südwestrundfunk
(SWR).
Coronavirus in Baden-Württemberg: Curevac with the world's first vaccination printer
The corona virus in Baden-Württemberg has been influencing life in the southwest for over a year.
Since December, however, highly contagious virus mutations have been appearing more and more frequently *, which have made the situation even worse.
Parts of the population already feared that the approved vaccines might not protect against the mutations, or not sufficiently.
However, first studies with the vaccine from Curevac have shown that it also helps against the virus variants from Great Britain and South Africa, said Curevac boss Franz-Werner Haas in a hearing of the European Parliament, as
reported by
the
SWR
.
The results of the study should be published soon.
With regard to vaccinations against the coronavirus, Germany is currently facing one problem in particular.
While the doses of the Biontech and Pfizer vaccine are running out, some people refuse to be vaccinated with the Astrazeneca vaccine.
According to the
SWR
, on the other hand, Curevac already produces in stock - with an impressive method.
With the help of the world's first vaccination printer, the Tübingen-based company can produce mRNA vaccine quickly and easily.
As with a regular print job, information about the virus is fed into the printer, which then automatically produces the appropriate vaccine.

The Tübingen-based company Curevac can use the vaccination printer to significantly accelerate the vaccination against the coronavirus in Baden-Württemberg and react accordingly in the event of further virus mutations.
Around 100,000 vaccine doses could be produced per week, said Curevac board member Florian von der Mülbe, according to the
SWR
.
With a height of two meters and a length of four meters, the printer is compact and mobile, but can replace entire vaccine factories and can be used worldwide.
