In keeping with the spring-like weather of the past few days, the corona lockdown has ended for the nurseries, among others.

They are allowed to reopen from this Monday.

We asked the florists in the district how they were preparing for the expected onslaught.

“We have explicitly decided against any advertising measures for the opening.

The situation should be manageable so that every customer can do their spring shopping with satisfaction, ”reports Robert Gauster from the Gauster gardening company in Dorfen.

The restart after more than two months of closure takes place under the strictest conditions.

Juliane Flei, owner of Blumen Flei in Reithofen, explains that in addition to the minimum distance of 1.5 meters that applies anyway, there are also distance instructions.

"To protect our customers, we only ever ask one person into the sales room, while the others can wait outside."

Gauster in Dorfen also attaches great importance to the distances.

“We definitely have enough space so that customers can avoid each other,” explains Gauster.

The Strohmair und Hirsch nursery in Erding also has all sorts of measures to protect against infection: disinfectant dispensers, spacer strips and of course - as with all others - the FFP2 mask requirement.

The sellers must also wear at least one medical mask, and the nurseries have a well-developed hygiene concept.

The Erdingen master gardener Stefan Strohmair says it was a relief and a joy when he and his team learned that they were allowed to reopen.

"We are very happy and immediately got ready for the spring sale," said Juliane Flei.

Workpieces have been completed and a large number of vegetables and early bloomers have been bought in the wholesale market.

In addition to gardening goods, such as plants for vegetable beds, many customers would already buy Easter decorations or gift items.

Diligence is prepared for this too.

In addition to the sale, the graves are planted in spring.

Flei also expects a lot of customers.

Stefan Strohmair and Franz Hirsch try to regulate the flow of customers as best as possible using the number of shopping carts and distance markings.

They grow most of them themselves, which is why they do not expect any bottlenecks in terms of procurement.

With regard to the opening, Prime Minister Markus Söder argues that the goods are perishable, which is why an extended closure would be fatal for the industry.

“There are ways to preserve the plants over a certain period of time, for example by regulating the temperature.

But this holding back can't stay that way forever, especially now when it's getting warmer again. ”For Gauster, the opening comes just in time.

Strohmair sees it that way too.

He currently employs ten people.

“We are lucky that we did not have short-time work.

We have simply cut overtime over the past few weeks.

If it starts again now, the hours will be added again. "

Everyone sincerely hopes that the numbers will not rise again and that the flower shops and nurseries can stay open.

Strohmair wants the citizens to remain sensible.

"It would be a relief for everyone if everyone had a little understanding and adhered to the measures." That would help them a lot.

The Stockmaier-Cermark nursery in Wartenberg is also hoping for a better future: "But for that you have to appeal to the common sense of the people."
