In November of the previous year, the Polytechnic University became one of the battlefields of the anti-revision law. The police arrested more than 1,000 people in PolyU and nearby areas.
After further investigations by the Police Organized Crime and Triad Investigation Bureau, 11 people were arrested early this morning (1st). The arrested persons included 7 men and 4 women, aged between 17 and 26.
The arrested persons are suspected of being related to the violent clashes that occurred in the Polytechnic University in November 2019. The 11 persons were previously arrested by the police and refused bail pending further investigation.
The 11 arrested men and women have been charged with a total of one crime of participating in a riot. One of them was charged with three additional charges, including rioting, resisting police officers performing their duties, and possession of offensive weapons in a public place, and one more Convicted of 1 count of unlicensed possession of radio communication appliances.
The case will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (2nd) morning.
