A recent American study found that eating a small amount of chocolate reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
The study published by the European Journal of Cardiology was conducted by scientists from the American College of Medicine "Baylor" and included analyzing data from 300,000 patients and found a link between eating chocolate and the presence of coronary artery disease, as people who ate chocolate at least once a week were
8% less likely to develop coronary heart disease than others.
The study indicated that the health benefits of chocolate are due to the presence of fatty acid, flavonoids and polyphenols in it, which are elements that strengthen the heart and increase the level of good cholesterol, warning at the same time that eating it should be in small quantities only because excessive in it may threaten obesity and type 2 diabetes.
