In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that Syria has repeatedly called on the Council to condemn the repeated Israeli attacks on the sovereignty and integrity of its territories and to take firm and immediate measures to suppress these attacks and to hold the Israeli occupation entity accountable for them.

In its message, which SANA received a copy of today, the ministry said, at 22:16 pm on Sunday February 28, 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities committed a new aggression on the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic by launching successive waves of rockets from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, which targeted some Areas in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus.

The ministry added that this new Israeli aggression came two days after the American warplanes launched an aggression against Syrian sovereignty in the Deir Ezzor governorate on the Syrian-Iraqi borders and in light of the support and protection of successive American administrations and some Western countries for (Israel) and the blind coverage of its repeated attacks and the knowledge of the Israeli leadership. It will not be held accountable for its countless crimes documented in documents and resolutions of the United Nations, human rights organizations and most other international organizations.

The ministry continued: The Israeli enemy carried out its missile aggression referred to above based on systematic allegations and lies that are being used by all aggressors against Syria's sovereignty, including the American and Israeli occupiers, bearing in mind that these pretexts are nothing more than open attempts to practice misleading and reversing the facts and to conceal the responsibility of (Israel) for its approach. The dangerous aggression and its practice of state terrorism and its continuous support for armed terrorist groups, which is an attempt doomed to failure as its predecessors, because everyone near and far has become aware of the fact that (Israel) is a rogue entity against international legitimacy and constitutes a threat to international peace and security and its danger is no less than the threat posed by ISIS and The Al-Nusra Front, the two terrorists and other organizations listed on the relevant Security Council lists as terrorist organizations, the entire international community should take action to eradicate them for the good of all mankind.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the international community's acceptance of the American and Israeli justifications for launching these attacks means turning the world into a jungle in which the United Nations, its charter and decisions, and international law, security and peace all over the world.

The ministry said that the Syrian Arab Republic affirms that the repeated Israeli attacks on it have not and will not succeed in protecting (Israel) partners and clients from terrorist organizations, nor will they succeed in distracting the Syrian Arab Army from eradicating terrorist cleavages and other (Israel) tools. Syria also affirms that it will not hesitate to exercise. Its right to defend its land, its people and its sovereignty by all means guaranteed by the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law.

The ministry added: The Syrian Arab Republic has repeatedly called on the Security Council to condemn the repeated Israeli attacks on the sovereignty and integrity of its territories and to take firm and immediate measures to suppress these attacks and hold (Israel) accountable for them. The Syrian Arab Republic has also repeated its warning (Israel) of the dangerous repercussions of its ongoing attacks and affirmed that it bears Full responsibility for it.

The ministry concluded its message by saying: Believing in the Syrian Arab Republic, as a founding member of the United Nations, in the role of international legitimacy, it continues to demand the Security Council once again to assume its responsibilities within the framework of the United Nations Charter, the most important of which is the maintenance of international peace and security, and to oblige (Israel) to respect its decisions related to the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement. To hold accountable all parties that support terrorism and launch attacks on Syrian sovereignty for its terrorism and crimes committed against the Syrian people, all of which constitute flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter, provisions of international law, Security Council Resolutions 242, 338, 350, 497 and all international resolutions and instruments related to combating terrorism.
