Carlos Stornelli came out to answer this Monday to President Alberto Fernández, who at the opening of congressional sessions accused the prosecutor of being "prosecuted for crimes as severe as illegal espionage of citizens or extortion and continue in office as if none of this. it will affect him. "

Faced with these statements from the president, Stornelli pointed out that he has "a non-firm prosecution for crimes that did not occur, which is proven in the record and is being discussed in court."

And he added: "It calls for reflection that it is not correct because I am not prosecuted for any crime of extortion."

"I am only going to refer to the fact that

the causes they made me are infamy, it was shown that they are lies

. However, there are people who insist on using these things to discredit one or more investigations, and I am not talking about the President", indicated in dialogue with TN.

Although he remarked that he did not follow the entire speech of the President in Congress because he was on the beach, he maintained that he saw a "little thing" that caught his attention: "They said that more judges are needed to decide the arbitrariness or not (of a ruling) , but in my case with what a militant judge says it is already. It seems to me that this contains a contradiction and reveals the true intentions, "said Stornelli.

When asked what he thinks these intentions are, he replied: "What everyone says. It is that if I want to abort an investigation for corruption, either I get rid of the prosecutor or I get rid of the judge who I cannot govern or I add more judges. This could perhaps be the explanation that citizens make about the attempt of more criminal courts, which are obviously not necessary. "

"And well, it has happened with a colleague (by Alberto Nisman) and with others, leaving aside my name, such as Dr. (José María) Campagnoli who have persecuted him with impiety just for investigating," he sentenced and added: "You have to reflect a little and with this I am not inviting the President to reflect or anything, nor am I meddling with his opinion, which is not the same as he had when he met with me. "

Faced with this strong statement, the journalist Nicolás Wiñazki asked him if he had met with Fernández, to which the prosecutor replied: "Yes, many times. In the previous government. I have known him for many years."

"I have years of pressures for which I have already lost the sensitivity to distinguish pressures or not.

I am not going to speak ill of the President, I have known him for years," he

said.

In this sense, he considered that

"there is an attempt to discipline the prosecutors and judges"

because - he raised - "who will want to investigate the case Cuadernos or Lázaro Báez if they see what happens to me, what happened to ( Claudio) Bonadío or to Campagnoli ".

This Monday, during the opening of sessions, Fernández charged hard against the Judiciary, stating that "it is in crisis" and "is the only Power that seems to live on the margins of the republican system."

In his one hour and 47 minute speech, the president pointed out against Stornelli without naming him: "There is a prosecutor prosecuted for crimes as severe as illegal espionage of citizens or extortion who continues to function as if none of this affected him. he does not apply that doctrine that recommended the preventive detention of people when their 'residual power' could affect the investigation. It is true. His power is not residual. It is in force. "
