The High Court today (Monday) ordered the state to reduce within two weeks the use of GSS surveillance for the purpose of monitoring Corona patients.
According to the judges' ruling, the use of GSS sites will be limited to patients who do not cooperate with the epidemiological investigation. In addition, the government will have to formulate clear and transparent criteria for the conditions under which GSS can continue to be used.
President Esther Hayut ruled that there was no reason to invalidate any section of the law that gives the government the authority to use the GSS to fight the corona, but to formulate clear criteria for the question of when that authority will be used.
