Tehran - SANA

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the threatening language with Iran is useless and that the policy of maximum pressure has failed.

IRNA quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh as saying during a press conference today, we said in advance that if the United States wants to have a place in the nuclear deal, it must fulfill its obligations under Resolution 2231 and effectively lift the sanctions, then we will respond to the step. And positive action, with positive action, but if we see different measures and behaviors from Europe and America, we will respond in proportion to that, and when they return to their commitments, Iran will immediately return to its obligations.

Concerning the recent positions of Western officials regarding the nuclear deal, Khatib Zadeh said: “European countries have not fulfilled their obligations,” expressing his country's regret for the lack of any change in the policy adopted by the United States towards his country.

"We do not have a bilateral dialogue with America, and there will be no change in our policy until the United States corrects its wrong course, and we will not base our policies on words until we see actions," he added.

Yesterday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced its rejection of a European proposal to hold an informal meeting on the nuclear agreement due to the recent positions and actions of America and the European Troika.
