The government officially announced last year that it would build the Tuen Mun South Extension Line, extending 2.4 kilometers to the south from Tuen Mun Station on the West Rail Line, and set up a new Tuen Mun South Station near Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and an additional midway station in Tuen Mun Area 16. However, some of the community facilities, including Tuen Mun Swimming Pool and Hoi Wong Road Garden, must be demolished, replaced, and disabled.

According to the documents submitted by the MTR, the Tuen Mun swimming pool will be relocated to the practice lawn in the Tuen Mun Golf Centre. The number of swimming pools in the future will be similar to the existing Tuen Mun swimming pool.

As for the Hoi Wong Road Garden, it will be relocated on government land on the side of the Tuen Mun River (East Bank) Garden.

The MTR also pointed out that the key to early completion of the project depends on the time it takes to demolish the existing swimming pool.

The Tuen Mun South Extension Line will extend 2.4 kilometers to the south from Tuen Mun Station on the West Rail Line, and a new Tuen Mun South Station will be set up near Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and a midway station will be added in Tuen Mun Area 16, as per December 2015 The price is calculated to cost about 11.4 billion yuan. Construction is expected to start in 2023 and be completed in 2030.

According to the documents submitted by the MTR to the District Council, during the construction period of the Tuen Mun South Extension, it is inevitable that some community facilities need to be demolished, relocated or temporarily closed. According to the MTR, the existing practice lawn and Adventure Park will be integrated and replaced on the original site.

After the relocation of the Tuen Mun swimming pool, the MTR stated that the number of swimming pools is similar to the existing ones, including the main pool, training pool, learning pool, paddling pool and diving pool; the new spectator stand can accommodate 700 people to 800 people.

The MTR also pointed out that the key to the early completion of the project is the timing of the demolition of the existing swimming pool. The current direction is to demolish and reset the swimming pool at the same time.

In addition to the swimming pool, the "Green in Tuen Mun" recycling station in MTR Area 16, and the Hoi Wong Road Garden (including the pet park) need to find a suitable location for replacement. The former will be located at Lung Chak Road near the underside of Lung Fu Road Bridge. Land for greening; the latter is government land on the garden side of Tuen Mun River (East Bank).

The MTR also pointed out that because the railway was constructed in an elevated form, some of the viaducts and bridges would be located within the Wu Shan Recreation Ground and Tuen Mun Traffic Safety City. Therefore, some related facilities must be temporarily used during the construction of the project.

In addition, the MTR stated that the Wu Yue footbridge near Wu Yue Street will be permanently suspended and will be replaced by ground-level pedestrian crossing facilities.
