A digital vaccination certificate should soon be possible in the European Union (EU).

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen intends to present corresponding plans for the preparation of such a document in March.

The CDU politician announced this in a video conference with German Union politicians.

Last week, the 27 EU countries agreed that there should be mutually recognized proof of vaccination.

How it will be designed is still unclear.

A database for registering vaccinations and a personalized QR code for vaccinated people are planned.

The EU Commission now has to submit a draft law.
