'Barçagate': Josep María Bartomeu, former Barcelona president, was released while the cause advances

The former president of Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu and his right-hand man, Jaume Masferrer, were provisionally released on Tuesday after being brought to justice, a day after being arrested for the 'Barçagate' scandal, the court reported.

The two investigated for a smear campaign on social networks against opponents of Bartomeu, "have gone to court, they have availed themselves of their right not to testify and the magistrate has agreed to provisional release," said the statement from the court in Barcelona.
