Erding - A year ago, shortly before the start of the corona pandemic, it was 2.1 percent.

Regarding short-time work, the Freising Employment Agency announced that a year ago there had been short-time work in 450 companies.

4,900 men and women were affected.

Short-time working reached a preliminary high in April 2020. At that time, 880 companies for almost 12,000 employees took advantage of this opportunity.

The latest figures on short-time work for Erding are from September: 7,400 employees in 410 companies.

There are still vacancies.

In February, the Erdingen company reported 183 vacant jobs to the agency, 53 more than in January.

A total of 731 job offers were vacant in February.

Despite the comparatively stable figures, agency boss Nikolaus Windisch speaks of a "continued tense situation on the regional labor market".

The winter weather conditions would have had a strong impact, especially in the outdoor occupations.

“The effects of the corona pandemic are still clearly noticeable.

In February, almost 3,500 more people were looking for a new job in the entire Freising agency district than a year earlier.

What pleased Windisch: "The demand for workers is increasing again." More people have found a job than in January.
