Swaida clubs players won 42 different medals during their participation in the first phase of the First Youth League Karate Club Championship for the categories under 16, 18, 21 and over 18 years for individual fighting and kata for males and females hosted by the main hall in Al-Assad Sports City in Lattakia Governorate.

The medals achieved were distributed to 9 gold, 10 silver and 23 bronze, through the clubs of Al-Arabi, Shaqa, Channels, Kufr and Salkhad.

Al-Arabi Club succeeded by winning five gold medals through Shaheen Abu Dargham in the fight with a weight of under 45 kg for the U-16 category, Hadeel Abu Raslan and Khaled Abu Alwan in the individual kata and Ahmed Radwan in the fight with a weight of under 76 kg, and Reem Abu Dargham with a weight of over 59 kg for the under-18 category, as well as three medals. Silver by Aws Thabit with a weight of under 70 kg, Ryan Sayyouma with a weight of over 70 kg for the category of under 16 years, and Yasmine Badr El Din in Alkata for the category of over 18 years.

Al-Arabi club won nine bronze medals through Lynn Abu Alwan in kata, Raneem Masoud, weighing under 47 kg, Nathali Azzam, weighing over 54 kg, Sufyan Al-Shaer, weighing under 63 kg, for the category of under 16, Reem Abu Dargham, in Kata, Yasmine Mahmoud, weighing under 59 kg, Jalal Al-Aawar, weighing under 61 kg. For the under 18 year old, Amal Kiwan and Majd Abdul Malik group weighing under 55 kg for the over 18 year old category.

Shaqa club won four gold medals through Amin Musleh in kata for the U-16 category, Wissam Al-Hamed for fighting under 50 kg for the Under-18 category, Diana Al-Hussein for fighting with a weight of under 55 kg, and Hussam Ghaith with kata for the over 18-year-old category, and four silver for Hashem Al-Hussein players weighing under 55 kg and weighing valid under weight 50 kg, and Nasir al-Din tweeting with kata for the under-18 category, and Hanin Bu Shakra with kata for the under-16 category, in addition to six bronze medals achieved by Hashem Al-Hussein and Hakam Al-Sahnawi for the under-18 category, Diana Al-Hussein for the under-16 category, Diana Al-Hussein for the under-18 category, and Hassan Al-Sahnaoui for the under-21 category, with the Kata contest and Al-Sahnawi’s Raad with a weighted fight. Qanawat club won two silver medals in the U-16 category through Omar Al-Barnouti in the Kata and Areej Sharrouf in the fight with a weight of under 42 kg and five silver medals for each of Raad Sharrouf with a weight of under 57 kg and Andre Zarifa in Alkata for the category of under 16 years and Noor Al-Nimr and Bilsan Al-Khatib with a weight over 59 kg and Ghaida Khalaf Zain Al-Din Balcata for under 18 year olds.

Al-Kufr club also won a silver for Hussein Al-Baradei in the fight with a weight of over 54 kg and a bronze medal for Hala Faraj with a weight of under 47 kg, while Salkhad Club won a bronze medal by Kinan Al-Rishani with a weight of under 55 kg for the under-18 category.

According to the Secretary of the Technical Committee of Karate in Sweida, Alaa Abu Moghdhab, the tournament witnessed the participation of 35 clubs with a good technical level for the players, indicating that the results of the Sweida clubs reflected the work of the coaches, the extent of interest in the game and the promising talents in the governorate.
