African health authorities have recorded about 3.9 million new cases of the Coronavirus since the pandemic spread on the African continent last year.

According to the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the total number of injuries has reached 3899093, while the total deaths reached 103,762 and 3477,804 people have recovered so far throughout the continent.

Southern Africa is the region most affected by the Coronavirus

in the continent, followed by North Africa.

The African Union recently emphasized that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is not only a

severe health emergency but also an acute economic and social crisis.
