The Animal Health Department of the Agriculture Directorate in Al-Hasakeh, last month, vaccinated 92,000 head of sheep and cows against diseases that afflict livestock during the current period of the year.
The head of the Animal Health Department, Dr. Farid Abdel Qader, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the vaccination operations include various types of vaccines that are sent from the Ministry of Agriculture to Al-Hasakah Governorate, respectively.
He stressed that the health status of livestock in the governorate is good and will witness an increasing improvement during the coming period as a result of the start of the growth of green areas and natural pastures throughout the governorate and the diversity of food sources for livestock, which greatly contributes to enhancing their immunity and resistance to diseases.
It is noteworthy that the number of livestock in Al-Hasakah Governorate is approximately one million and 800 thousand heads, according to the statistics of the Agriculture Directorate.
