Sinabong Volcano erupted and threw a cloud of ash at a height of about five kilometers • Thanks to an early warning, the residents of the area managed to escape in time
On Tuesday, there was a particularly powerful eruption of the volcano, Sinabong, located in the Karo province in northern Sumatra, Indonesia with an ash cloud of up to 5 km.

The country's volcanology center said the mountain's volcanic activity had increased since last year, and the expected eruption warning was placed at the second level in height.
No casualties were reported, and thanks to the warnings, residents living in the area were ordered to stay at least 3 km from the crater.
Videos on social media showed that respondents in the area panicked a bit, following the outbreak.
Varda Bar Sitpo, a 20-year-old resident, told Reuters that "the situation has calmed down. The mountain is not erupting and the ash has subsided."
It should be noted that Indonesia extends over what is known as the "Pacific Ring of Fire", a seismic active region, where Earth's crustal plates meet to form numerous earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Indonesia has almost 130 active volcanoes, more than any other country. Also, Mount Sinabong was not active for hundreds of years, until its eruption in 2010.
