The great initiative.
The one which invites the players of Vendée to mobilize for a cause that everyone knows well: support for the women and men who contribute all year round to the National Society for Rescue at Sea (SNSM).
Recognized as being of public utility, this French association founded in 1967 aims to provide voluntary and free aid to human lives in danger at sea.
We remember that on June 8, 2019, the all-weather canoe SNS061 Patron Jack Morisseau - resuming service during the technical shutdown of its successor the SNS002 Canotier Jacques Joly - capsized in front of Les Sables-d'Olonne during a rescue mission of 'a fisherman caught in the storm Miguel.
Three rescuers (Yann Chagnolleau, 55, skipper of the canoe; Alain Guibert, 51, sub-skipper; Dimitri Moulic, 28, mechanic) as well as the fisherman (Tony Guibert) died in this shipwreck.
Support for the SNSM station in Sables d'Olonne
Originally from Les Sables d'Olonne, our colleague Frédéric Plisson, who studied in the written press before collaborating with the channels of the Canal + group and then working today in the commentary and production of events, as well as his friend Eugène Huvelin, former Vendée entrepreneur, sports enthusiast and founder of the "white open golf tournament", have decided to organize the first "Open des Oceans" on Sunday 23 May 2021 on the Bourgenay Golf Club course to allow Vendée golfers to support the SNSM resort in Sables d'Olonne.
Personalities from the sporting and artistic world will accompany them to the event during this day.
Some have already confirmed their presence: Fabienne Thibeault, Thierry Omeyer, Gérard Holtz, Jérémie Beyou, Fabrice Amedeo and undoubtedly others…
Thanks to their golfing talent, each Par or Birdie made will see a "pot" increase which will be handed over the same evening to the SNSM station in Sables d'Olonne.
The historical partners of the Vendée golfing world, who have already confirmed their commitment to this “Open of the Oceans”, with original participation support, will see 50% of their contribution entirely donated to the SNSM station in Sables d'Olonne. .
Auction
The Open des Oceans poster created by Patrick Bernié, artist-painter and golfer, will be auctioned during the evening and the amount of the auction will be given in full to SNSM sailors.
The individual competition in Stableford will be played for all the series, with the boules starting according to the index recommended by the FFG.
An event committee is set up for this open, made up of a representative of receptive golf, the president of the AS, and a member of the organizing committee.
The prizes and rewards will be awarded at the gala evening at the New Lodge in Sainte Foy (in the event of the player's absence, his prize will be reserved and acquired).
Participation is limited to 140 players.
This competition is open to all players up to date with their license and medical certificate.
An individual participation fee of 100 € will be paid by the player.
This package will include the green fee, green fees and participation in the gala evening.
Please note: the notion of a member of the “Bourgenay golf club” does not exempt from the participation fee.
