Ismaning - Ritsch, Ratsch.

At “Monaco Cut” in Ismaning, a hairdresser cuts off a customer's short curls.

Chef Thomas Schweiger is in a good mood: "Servus Andi" - the master hairdresser welcomes a regular customer.

"Andi" is one of 90 customers who will get a new cut on Monday.

“Our scissors don't glow with work, they melt,” says Schweiger.

The hairdressing salons are open again today - after a mandatory break of ten weeks.

Since the decision on hairdressers was made just under three weeks ago after the federal-state consultations, Schweiger and his team have made 600 appointments.

There are no more appointments until the end of March.

The phone rings non-stop, “it's heavy,” says Thomas Schweiger.

Hairdressers open in Bavaria: shifts for employees - extended opening times

Shift work is the order of the day for his employees: the shop is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., four hours longer than in "normal operation".

The company is not at full capacity - due to the hygiene regulations, only five instead of all nine employees are allowed in the shop.

One employee per ten square meters.

The mood in the shop is good, especially among the staff.

You were on short-time work and are now looking forward to your full salary and tip.

The hairdressers received many offers to cut their hair illegally during the lockdown.

“A man offered me 100 euros for a short haircut,” says Schweiger.

The hairdressing team had to fix a few hairy derailments.

“Some look wild,” says Schweiger cautiously.

An employee tells of an accident - the customer's wife cut a hole in the hairline with a razor during the corona lockdown.

A haircut that "also has to do with dignity": Prime Minister Markus Söder defended the decision to open hairdressers a few weeks ago.

The customers in the Monaco Cut think this is exaggerated.

They are always happy about their new haircut.

“It's nice to have you back,” says a man as he walks out.

The employees laugh.
