After the fire in the early morning of February 16, the local woman was resuscitated.

A 28-year-old resident of the home in the Freimann district had also suffered severe smoke inhalation and was at times in mortal danger.

Many residents were able to get themselves to safety from the flames.

The fire had broken out in the sauna in the dormitory basement.

The rooms burned out completely.

The fire department received the emergency call at 2:30 a.m.

According to the police, 185 residents are registered in the home at Christoph-Probst-Straße.

According to the fire department, three other residents suffered minor injuries.

The police are now investigating why there was a fire in the sauna area with several rooms.

Due to the corona, the sauna was actually closed.

The Kripo investigates in all directions - from technical defects to arson.

“The building's fire protection devices were last checked in 2017.

Everything worked out fine, ”says Sebastian Stahn from the fire department.

The property damage is probably in the high six-figure range.
