Everyone is talking about easing.

But what if the pandemic makes stricter rules necessary again?

To be on the safe side, Hausham municipal council has now prepared for this.

Hausham

- Even if the virus was the trigger: Mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG) did not want to include the word Corona in the name of the newly formed committee of the Hausham municipal council.

“That wouldn't be very exciting.” Instead, the six-member body is now called the Special Committee.

However, it is only convened if the municipal council cannot meet due to a pandemic.

"We don't want to paint the devil on the wall here," Zangenfeind sent in advance at the latest municipal council meeting.

Currently, thanks to the spacious Glück-Auf-Saal, all applicable rules can be observed.

“But we don't know how the situation will develop.” According to the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, it is possible, according to the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, to transfer the decision-making powers of the municipal council to an existing or new committee so that the community remains capable of acting.

Since the foundation was only possible with the presence of the full body, it would have to be voted on today, the mayor said.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the decisive factor for the convocation is the corona incidence value on the day of the summons.

Because this sometimes "changes vigorously", the town hall chief recommended that the criterion should be based on the applicable corona rules.

"If we cannot keep them, the special committee meets."

Hubert Lacrouts (CSU) admitted that initially he was not very enthusiastic about meetings in small groups.

“There are things that shouldn't be decided by six people.” In a democracy, all elected councilors should be able to vote.

The mayor's arguments had convinced him - especially the condition that the special committee should only meet in an emergency.

“You shouldn't decide something like that at your own discretion.” Managing Director Rudi Randler pointed out that serious issues such as budget or statutes could not be dealt with in the reduced committee anyway.

"The priority must continue to be given to the entire municipal council," emphasized Thomas Danzer (SPD).

The decision to set up the special committee was ultimately unanimous.

A majority of the committee rejected the establishment of a holiday committee, which actually has exactly the same powers as the town council, on the recommendation of the town hall chief.

And the special committee should only exist on paper if possible, said Harda von Poser (Greens): "Hopefully we will never have to use it."
