A group of firefighters found the bodies of the Panamanian consul in Bogotá, Telma Barría Pinzón and her husband in the waters of the Frío River in the department of Huila, Colombia, Captain Edison Fernández, delegate, told CNN department of the fire brigade.


The firefighters of the municipality of La Rivera received this Monday afternoon a notification from the neighbors about a car dragged by the sudden rising of the Frío River.

Five people were traveling in the vehicle, including Barría Pinzón and her husband.

Fernández, who was in charge of the operation, said that when they arrived at the place they found a white car anchored to a rock and began the search for the three occupants who were missing, since the other two people managed to get out of the car by their own means.

Fernández told CNN that this Tuesday at 6 am, local time, they found the consul's body about 700 meters from the vehicle and two hours later, they found her husband, who had been dragged by the current for almost two kilometers.
