The president's new visitors

2021-03-02T18:13:26.776Z

CHRONIC. Promised sworn, we are told regularly, Emmanuel Macron is not at all interested in the next presidential campaign. The sheave

Officially, Emmanuel Macron does not devote a minute of his day to preparing for the 2022 campaign. The reality is quite different.

On the contrary, he consults, in search of the right intuition.

There are of course the old macronist adventure drivers like Richard Ferrand, François Bayrou or Christophe Castaner.

But in recent weeks, the number of “evening visitors” with whom Macron speaks politically has increased.

And the profiles have evolved.

Often younger.

For example, ministers Gabriel Attal (spokesperson), Agnès Pannier-Runacher (Industry), Sébastien Lecornu (Overseas), Amélie de Montchalin (civil service), MEP and political advisor Stéphane Séjourné, Thierry Solère, and still others like the producer Jean-Marc Dumontet… That's a lot of people!

Of all, Emmanuel Macron expects them to think, that they anticipate, in short that they phosphorate.

These are bilateral exchanges by multiple means of communication (the president is connected).

No sacred political meeting, but "in silo as it has always done", says one of these "evening visitors season 2".

But why go about it so early when no one is able to predict the state of the country in 2022?

Because Macron knows that he will not be able to redo the coup of 2017, the hussar, by overwhelming everyone from the center against a background of "degagism".

This time, he will be accountable for a balance sheet and crisis management.

However, he does not want to give up what he loves the most: disruption, a new idea, the effect of surprise.

To overturn the table a second time, it is prepared beforehand.

The president's men and women have already started.
