The Greek island of Castellorizo is the first in a new model of the Greek Ministry of Tourism: all 550 islanders were vaccinated in a second dose against Corona this week, and the island is considered a "safe area" on the island, as in all Greece, now waiting for vaccinated Israeli tourists.

Castellorizo, a small island in the Cycladic archipelago, has become better known in recent years after the Oscar-winning film Meditrano.

It is an island only 1,300 meters from the Turkish coast, which moved to Greece in 1948.

As part of a master plan of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, it intends to create "safe areas for tourism" when the model is first conducted in the islands.

"About 550 residents of the island all received the second dose of the vaccine this week, which means they can welcome tourists, especially from Israel," the Greek news agency agrinio press wrote.

In the future, Greece intends to vaccinate more islands - of course, depending on the availability of the vaccine in the country, which is currently not very high.

It should be noted that Greece and Cyprus have been waiting for the vaccinated Israeli tourist since the signing of the tourism agreement between the Greek prime minister and Netanyahu about two weeks ago.

In the Greek press, the various sites compete for the Israeli tourist: in Thessaloniki they hope for "tourists who will look for the Jewish heritage of the city", in Rhodes they promise tourists "service of five stars and more", and in Paphos (Cyprus) mention that "half an hour flight will lead you to perfect freedom."

According to the outline signed, tourists from Israel with a green passport will not need checks to enter the country, but random checks will be performed.
