Dangerous policewoman:

The Haifa Magistrate's Court accepted the position of the Police Investigations Department at the State Attorney's Office and this morning (Tuesday) convicted policewoman Mira Crescenti and her brother, Dr. Daniel Crescenti, of committing forgery and fraud against a childless elderly woman.

The defendant, who worked in the police traffic lawsuits in Haifa, took advantage of her access to the Israel Police computer system, located details of a deceased woman, checked that she had no first-degree relatives who could claim her inheritance and worked with her brother to forge and receive fraud.

According to the verdict, the defendant submitted to the Registrar of Inheritance in Haifa an application for a will, which she forged together with her brother, according to which the deceased announces her desire to bequeath to the defendants all her property, including a dwelling, its contents, and all funds in her bank accounts. , Life insurance, study funds and pension funds.

The defendant presented a false representation that the deceased is a good friend of the late mother, and that the defendants took care of the deceased over the years and therefore the deceased is interested in bequeathing her property to them.

Following the will execution order, the defendants transferred the deceased's apartment in their name in the registry office and also contacted the bank where the deceased's account was managed and requested that the funds deposited in the account be transferred to them.

In another case, the defendant made private use of the police computer system to locate the owner of the vehicle who claimed to have damaged her private vehicle and in a conversation with the people his relative identified as a plaintiff in traffic lawsuits.

The verdict also states that the defendant helped the defendant to be hired as a lecturer at the college, based on a resume and false details.

In addition, after starting her work at the college, based on the false documents presented by the defendant, the defendant falsely stated to the income tax that apart from her income from the college, she has no other income, even though she served in the Israel Police at the time.

The defendant was convicted of everything attributed to her in the three charges and the defendant was convicted of everything attributed to him in the two charges, except for aiding and abetting privacy, an offense from which he is acquitted.

The Magistrate's Court in Haifa (Rev. Dr. Zayed Fallah) referred to the case: "A police officer, who performs his duty by law, is expected not to exceed his powers, especially when it comes to broad and significant powers in terms of their impact and consequences on the public.

The system gives the police officer a great deal of trust, in the belief that he will not abuse his status and position, and the defendant's actions constitute a serious and significant violation of this trust. "

Advocate Ronen Yitzhak from the Department of Police Investigations also commented on the case: "The ruling given today, even after the death of the deceased, is about doing justice to the deceased and her estate, and of course correcting the public as a whole, taking into account the protected social values." And deception and the commandment 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor, nor rob any'.

This is a subtle act of fraud of forging a will of a childless elderly woman, which yielded the defendants an apartment and a very considerable sum of money.

The defendants did not take into account that despite the subtle act, which managed to deceive even the registrar of inheritances, a determined and professional DIP investigation would expose their actions not only regarding the forgery of the will but also on two other charges, in other incidents.
