While many of us thoroughly clean the shower, sink and bathroom in the bathroom - there is one area that we all forget to clean.

The professional cleaner, Casey Stephens, who owns The Big Clean Co from Melbourne, claims that the rubber strap at the bottom of almost any shower door can accumulate dirt and mold, and many of us are unaware of it at all and therefore do not clean or replace it.

But don’t worry - she explained how this part can be cleaned up in a video she posted on Tiktok.

"Here's a little something we forget when we clean the shower," she wrote, "this is the plastic strap at the bottom of the door."

Katie explained that the strip can be easily removed, but if you haven't done so by now, you'll need to apply some force, "Once you take it out, you can clean it, you can soak it, brush it - whatever you want."

If it is in a situation where it can no longer be cleaned, Casey explains that it can be easily replaced, and bought a new one at a hardware store.

Hundreds of thousands of people who watched the video were shocked that it had never occurred to them to clean or replace the strip before.

"I did not know she could be pulled out, learning something new every day," one respondent wrote and another added, "God it changed my life, thank you."

Although a small number of respondents said that they had actually cleaned the strip in the past, the vast majority said they had never thought about it.
