Damascus Traffic Branch officers arrested a person while stealing jewelry from a goldsmith's shop on Hamra Street.
And the Ministry of Interior indicated in a statement, which SANA received a copy of, that while the two policemen, Muhammad Najeeb and Hassan Roim from the Traffic Branch in Damascus were carrying out their duties in regulating traffic on Hamra Street in Damascus, they heard a distress call from the owner of a goldsmith's shop next to their place of service while he was facing a robbery, so they immediately started to catch up. He was arrested by the thief at the traffic light next to the Dar Al-Salam School.
The ministry stated in its statement that the stolen gold jewelery was recovered and returned to its owner, whose value is estimated at eleven million pounds, and the thief was handed over to the Arnous Police Department in Damascus to take the necessary action against him, and investigations are still continuing with him to present it to the competent court.
In its statement, the Ministry pointed out that the two policemen mentioned by the Damascus Police Command were honored for their speedy response and response to the citizen’s call.
