The 2021 edition of Parisculteurs - at least the 35 sites selected by the City of Paris for calls for projects in the capital (18 places) and in the suburbs (9 in Seine-Saint-Denis, 3 in Val-de-Marne , 3 in Yvelines, 1 in Essonne and 1 in Seine-et-Marne) - will be unveiled this Wednesday.
However, some sites are already known such as Sonchamp (Yvelines) with its educational and vocational training center park which offers a set of plots for a total of 9.2 hectares, including 6 hectares of cultivable plots.
In Paris, on the Necker site (15th district), some 800 square meters in the ground and 1100 square meters on a slab are also available, or on the 13th arrondissement side with the roof of the future central Baudricourt kitchen on 700 square meters .
In Seine-Saint-Denis, we find the Parc de la Poudrerie and its 10,000 square meters.
A very Parisian edition
But for this new season, two strong axes have been chosen by Audrey Pulvar, deputy in charge of sustainable food, agriculture and short circuits at the town hall of Paris.
“The idea is to have a very Ile-de-France edition of Parisculteurs.
Urban agriculture will never be able to feed Parisians but it can become a link in the chain, explains the elected official, also head of the Ile-de-France list in common for the regional ones in June.
I really wanted us to get out of Paris.
"
In this context, the City received applications from all over the region.
“We have land that we own, as in Sonchamp, but also others that belong to other towns, such as that in Sevran.
These cities wished to join our expertise in this area.
Out of more than a hundred requests to participate, and after numerous site visits, we finally selected 35, ”emphasizes Audrey Pulvar.
But this fourth round is also meant to be social and united.
It is a novelty.
“These calls for projects should enable us to fight against insecurity and set up an ecosystem around these urban agriculture installations.
Parisculteurs must integrate into the neighborhoods and benefit the residents of these neighborhoods, be part of the lives of residents.
"
Change agriculture
The assistant of Anne Hidalgo (PS) drives the point home and goes even further on the objectives of this agriculture of a new kind.
“We are at 53.7% organic and sustainable food for Parisian collective catering
(Editor's note: schools, nursing homes ...)
and the products come from a radius of 650 km around Paris.
Anne Hidalgo set a goal for me during this mandate: to reach 100% and a supply of 250 km maximum.
To succeed, it is therefore necessary to transform agriculture in the Ile-de-France region, increase the number of farms and have more diversity in the types of crops.
For all this, Paris needs partner cities and territories, ”explains the ex-journalist with a smile.
An entire program.
A program that furiously resembles that of a head of the regional list.
