A prominent visitor caused a stir in Puchheim: multi-billionaire and drugstore chain boss Erwin Franz Müller wanted to visit the new branch in the Ikarus Center.

In keeping with his status, however, he did not travel by car - but by helicopter.

He left the welcoming committee aside.

Puchheim - The "Ikarus" in Puchheim is already a popular shopping center in the eastern district - now it can boast a spectacular flying visit.

In the middle of the week one of the richest people in Germany floated in: Erwin Franz Müller, owner of the drugstore chain of the same name.

His fortune is estimated at $ 2.5 billion, according to the Forbes list.

Ikarus Center in Puchheim: Müller boss arrives by helicopter - and visits a new drugstore

The 88-year-old didn't want to do his weekly shopping, but rather check whether his employees were working properly during the hot phase.

Müller visited the new drugstore branch, which is due to open at the end of March.

But before he could enter the soon fragrant premises, he first had to land on a field with molehills directly behind the center (which apparently belongs to the Spiegl family).

A small reception committee was waiting for him there: Mayor Norbert Seidl had been aware of the distinguished visitor since the day before - after all, he had to obtain a landing permit from the city.

However, the encounter was sobering.

"Mr. Müller went out and didn't say a word." Seidl is skeptical about the whole thing anyway.

“Why does he have to visit the Puchheim branch of all places, it looks like the other 250?” And then by helicopter.

Actually, the 88-year-old drugstore king would only have had to walk about 100 meters from the landing site to the center.

But he was driven completely around the outside again in his own Müller car with Ulm license plate (main company headquarters).

Dominik Schneider was one of the people who also witnessed these scenes at first hand.

He was out shopping that Wednesday.

“At first I thought it was a rescue helicopter.” However, he then saw that it was all black - so it didn't fit.

The 20-year-old, who sits on the city council for the CSU, had an idea: He checked the flight radar app, with which you can track every flight movement in real time on your smartphone.

Schneider quickly found out that the helicopter came from Saarbrücken.

The landing in Puchheim took place at around 12.15 p.m. and the departure two hours later.

When he discovered the car with the Müller logo on it, on the dirt road, it was clear to him that a prominent construction site visit was taking place here.

A little surprising, but Schneider also sees it with a sense of humor.

"I do not hope that this will become a new airfield now."

Due to a corona outbreak in an asylum seekers home in Germering, the incidence in the region is increasing sharply.

A mutation could also be behind the outbreak.
