Winners of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement: Yehuda Meshi Zahav and Dr. Yosef Ciechanover
The award committee, headed by the director of Sheba Hospital, selected the chairman of the ZAKA and the former director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the winners of the Israel Prize for the year 1971.
The explanatory memorandum states that the award was given to Golden Silk "for his outstanding contribution to promoting aid in catastrophic events", and to Ciechanover for his significant contribution to the country in a variety of areas of action "

ZAKA chairman Yehuda Meshi Zahav and former Foreign Ministry director general Dr. Yosef Ciechanover are the winners of the Israel Prize in the field of Lifetime Achievement for a special contribution to society and the state, Education Minister Yoav Galant announced today (Tuesday).
The award committee was headed by Sheba Hospital director Prof. Yitzhak Kreis, and was attended by Israel Prize winner Miriam Peretz, Israel Prize winner Yeshayahu (Shaike) Levy, Brigadier General (Res.) Yehudit Grisero and former Bar-Ilan University Rector and Prof. Haim Teitelbaum.
